About the Artist

Abstract

Watercolour

*eclectic =  wide,  extensive, comprehensive, universal, varied,  diversified,  multidisciplinary, all-embracing, inclusive, and multifaceted certainly describes Gloria’s art.

She started painting when she moved to Salt Spring Island on the west coast of Canada. Surrounded by ocean she began with watercolours.

Thirty years later, she moved to Guelph, Ontario and after watching the movie Pollock in 2001, she exploded into abstract art using acrylics, inks, collage, etc.

Through the Global Art Project her collaged greeting cards have found their way around the world. Not being bound by any specific style has given her the opportunity to fly with her art and follow her instincts.

She loves the synchronicity and versatility of the various techniques as she works with colour, shape and texture, especially when the painting takes on a life of its own and tells her what it wants.

She lives on a 13-acre wooded Retreat Centre by the wide Eramosa River surrounded by an abundance of nature. The flowing water, the trees, flowers, ferns, visiting geese, herons, racoons, otters, etc. nurture and inspire her exploration and presentation of visual art.

Have a wander around and enjoy. Most pages are under construction this week, so do come back soon. Also, there will be a way to buy copies or originals either from this website or an Etsy store.

    Thanks for looking.
